The point of this thread is to bring up the idea of traditional pokemon leveling (minus the L100 cap, I hate that level cap).

So I'm sure most of you have played pokemon on the Nintendo DS, where you get out your two pokemon and then one of them faints and the other has to finish them off. The difference between that and this is that on the DS (or most official pokemon games), when you battle, all pokemon gain levels.

Therefore, I say allow all pokemon that participate in the defeating of a particular pokemon to gain some experience, like on official pokemon games. In retrospect, I understand that this can be ridiculous (L2000 pokemon battle, bring in your L5 to get one shotted and get up to L100 for doing nothing (8 dmg?) so I believe a limitation should be imposed.

Example:
L100 Samurott, L10 Staryu vs L75 Raichu.
So the L10 Staryu comes in first and does 3% of the Raichu's hp in damage. The Samurott then comes in after the Staryu dies and finishes off the Raichu. Since this is pokemon, I don't believe that the Raichu should get any experience on the damage he did (no consolation), but Staryu can get 3% of, say, 1500 XP (45XP) which is about as much as he'd get from a normal encounter at his level. This makes battling with lower level pokemon feasible, especially as they do more damage as they level up and that 45XP for L10 is 1/3 of the level.

Sorry if my manner of speaking's hard to read... To simplify, "All pokemon that do damage to an opponent should gain that percentage of experience if the opposing pokemon is defeated."

Well yeah, that's the idea. I don't really want to pay someone a crapload of money I don't have (as a beginner, don't have coins either and $50,000 is still a lot) to train my pokemon. I like to be able to do things for myself without having to pester high level players, and I'm sure high level players don't like to be constantly pestered by the thousands of newbies needed moderately strong pokemon. Even then, it allows you to be able to use more pokemon in battles, and if you use the same pokemon for the entire battle then he still gets all of the experience. It'd just be harder, but pay off more in the end. That sense of community is over-rated, it makes it much easier to get ripped off.

But hey, you feel as you feel and it isn't my job to convince anyone of anything.

1/10. People training for others is awesome. And, it's the person who gets ripped off's fault that they get ripped off. If they don't like the price of training, they should go somewhere else.

Its a good idea, but I have to agree with everyone else on this. I'd just stick to an Exp. Share even though they are expensive.

Like I said, I won't convince anyone of anything (because frankly, who cares?) and you can't convince me either. I won't pay anyone a crapload of money better spent otherwise to level my pokemon, especially when I could earn a lot by doing it myself. But anyway, truncate this topic from memory, and let it be removed.

If you don't like/can't take the ratings people give you, you shouldn't make a suggestion. And, people don't make you pay a crap ton of money, you're just too new to this game to know how much you're actually paying. And I'm pretty sure what I said was valid. People appreciate the training a lot more than you obviously do, so to them it is in fact awesome.

Yeah, and that's why it's so easy to get shafted as a lower player. I just think the game isn't for me (or thought until someone randomly sent a L145 pokemon, which I used to increase current levels with some difficulty) and would not worry about it.

By shafted, I mean, paying 200 coins for it is nothing for a high-rank, and for a low rank, it's almost 7x what you start with. And being someone who has played other games, learning how to get stuff done myself is a mandatory portion of most games. But hey, I guess it's fun at higher levels so I'm using that L145er to bring Oshawott up to that level.

And Charmtrainee... You must be just a kid (as Iris says; and I see you as... 16) and I will not hold your anger against you. And when I said awesome isn't a valid fact, it's because the word awesome is highly opinionated. Generally, in business, if you're trying to sell something, you say something like "The Super Soaker VI is a powerful long range option in comparison to standard water pistol, as well as being able to hold double the water and unload it three times faster," not "The Soaker VI is awesome."

i disagree. if this suggestion is actually approved, all the training businesses will be for nothing.

Jeffrey, you sound like someone with maturity. I don't call him a kid because "he thinks it's a bad idea, he's a boy," not at all. I say so because, if you read the message, he says "bad idea, training's awesome" and when I said that "awesome isn't adequate," he says "yes it is, you're dumb so shut up because you can't take the ratings they give you." That's paraphrased, read it yourself, but if a meaning of my message is unclear, it's because of my bad english. (An american with bad english, yes, but don't worry about it)

I thought it'd be a good idea to be able to do it yourself without so much difficulty, but obviously not as everyone just loves the training, business, you know. And who am I to introduce someone new? Conformity never changes, with it being so reluctant to change (implying that new ideas that change more than a little bit = junk).

And for an example of what a kid sounds like... Amaan, really? I put the "if you're short on time, then here's a one sentence summary" in bold and you didn't read it. You're not short of time as you had the time to type out a message, but you're too lazy to read the bold out-standing (misdefinition? lol) sentence. People and their ten second attention spans.
