Hmm, kinda hard to explain, Role playing is where you enact a scenario that the character you are is in. If you glance at a couple of RPs it may help your understanding of them.

Basically, it's when you take on the role of a character and pretend to be them. Like Tman said, it might help you understand if you look at a couple. :P
