a person in forums is seen by reputation and thanks, a post is seen by number of times it was thanked, but what about a thread? so, here is my suggestion, at the top of the thread, near the title, on right hand side can be a button to rate the forum up or down. for this, a thumbs up or thumbs down icon can be used. and, this should also be in list of threads, and position of thread in section will also depend on ratings, and this can affect players stats(forum)etc.
Edit- this can also be used to make thread sticky, like if the thread has +a ratings, it will be stickied.

Wantedness on tread is not about the reputation of player it depends on how much is the tread very good as an idea
