0/10. Putting him right on one of the sidebars would make "Dark" Alley and "Mysterious" Trainer fake descriptions, as he would then be easily found and not mysterious at all.

Like others have said, Levi, the "Dark Alley," isn't really hidden, so it kind of makes your comment useless.
I like this, especially while I'm training at times and I see I get a PM or a trade. I could easily go to the PM/trade and then just click on the handy-dandy link :P |

I don't really see the point to change the Mysterious Trainer to on of the side bars, yeah it might be few seconds faster to get there but don't think this is really necessary. I'd rate the idea 3/10.

good idea but you should have the dark alley somewhere down at the bottom of the page like where the sign out button is but bellow it

Putting the mysterious trainer in the dark alley in the town/city you are in makes it more like you're actually going to town and in to the alley to get to him. Putting him right on the easily accessed side menus would kinda ruin putting him in the alley in town.
