Leftovers are only obtainable by trading via others in the game. Some rate it very highly.

gt an item finder or dowsing machine then search the maps and collect 50 rubies and 50 sapphires then go to the lab and hand them in,it's a 50% chance you will get leftovers,if it fails you lose the items and have to collect them again.
