They are really good for your first time, but to make them even better, make the wind effect go in both directions instead of just one :)

When the box for the wind effect comes up, there should be check boxes that say left, right, or both. Click the box that says both.

I have gimp 2.6 too all you have to do is make one more layer and put left instead of right this time.
