Sylph watched.
"Oh, thanks!" Chiaki said, stepping in and taking off her shoes.

"Don't mind the gig on the couch playing the Pkaystation, that's Zeke, Texans running back." Curtis said

Edward kept writing.

Chiaki nodded, smiling.
Sylph tried to read what Edward was writing.

Edward put the note in an envelope.

"Want anything to drink?" Curtis said

"Do you have any coffee?" Chiaki asked.
"Who's it for?" Sylph asked.

"My little bro." Edward said.

"Yeah." Curtis said, turning on the coffee pot

"Thank you." Chiaki said.
"Cool." Sylph said. "What's he like?"

"Couldn't really tell ya." Edward said.

"No problem." Curtis said and slid the mug over

Chiaki grabbed the mug and took a sip of the coffee.
Sylph nodded and started to think about his little sister.

"Could you go put this in the mailbox?" Edward said.

Curtis grabbed a beer from the fridge

Sylph nodded and took the letter, walking out.
"Hey... We're you the one who visited me in the hospital after the motorbike accident?" Chiaki asked.

"Yeah." Curtis said.

"I still have those flowers." Chiaki said, taking another sip.
Sylph carefully opened the letter and read it.

"Really?" Curtis said.

"Hey Curt,

How's it going man? I got whacked a good one in battle today, doctors tell me I may not be able to walk, but, ya know what? It's not like you'll give a f*ck. I realize I did some crap I wasn't proud of but man, it's been ten years. All I want is a response. Don't make me lose two brothers in one month, now I've lost it all.

Sylph was trying not to cry as he reseated the letter.
Chiaki pulled her phone out from the waistline of her skirt. There was a chain on it that had a small block of clear stuff with tiny orange flowers preserved in it.
